Nvr Enuff Polish Equinox

$

Hope everyone's Monday is going okay!  Today I have a new to me brand: Nvr Enuff Polish.  I was scrolling through facebook or instagram and saw a swatch of one of their polishes and decided to give them a try.  It actually took me a minute to figure out the brand because I couldn't quite read the label and there wasn't a description.  Anyways, I ordered 3 polishes and when they came, I was so busy I had to put them to the side.  Well I finally got the opportunity to wear one.

Equinox is a gorgeous dark green teal holo.  The kind that makes you stare at your nails while sitting in traffic on the 405 kind of gorgeous.  You know how I love my dark green holos.  This one hit the spot.  It's super holo and the formula?  The formula was amazing.  It practically applied itself.  It could've been a one coater if I used a slightly thicker coat.

This is 2 glorious coats.

Nvr Enuff Polish is currently preparing for their restock so the website is down, but no worries, the restock will be tomorrow July 21st at 2pm PST.  Check them out at these places for updates and more restock info:

Twinsie Tuesday - Shiny and Matte Combo

It's Tuesday, so time for another Twinsie Tuesday post!  Today's theme is shiny matte combo.  I decided to try a tape mani and recreate probably the most widely spread nail picture on the planet from Chloe's Nails.  It's been on my list to try since I first saw it on MUA.

It's not bad for a first try, but I was obviously being impatient with the pinky nail, which wasn't quite dry yet when I put the tape on.  Oops!

For this look I used Illamasqua Boosh as a base.

Then used Essie Matte About You to create the matte squares and there you have it!

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies' shiny/matte combos!  I'm sure they were much more creative than me.

Hi everyone, just a quick post of my NOTD (nails of the day).

I used Essie First Timer which is from the 2013 Resort Collection.  It's a gorgeous light, but bright, green creme.  The formula on this was perfect.  It wasn't thick or streaky and went on perfectly!

This is 2 coats.

Then I layered China Glaze Point Me to the Party on top which is a neon multi colored glitter in a clear base.  Check out my review of this and the rest of the Electric Nights Collection.

Great Lakes Lacquer August Limited Editions

Hi everyone!  Today I'm showing two of three gorgeous limited editions from Great Lake Lacquers available during the month of August.  These along with The Friends, Part I Collection will be available Saturday, August 1st at 11am EST from GreatLakesLacquer.com.

Great Lakes Lacquer Kissing My Hun on Gun.  I love fishing with my husband.  It’s sort of our down time together and something that we both love to do.  It’s an awesome bonding experience and keeps that connection going.  Therapy on the water has been a best practice for us for two years now.  This polish is inspired by a picture he took of us kissing while fishing.  Everything is rhyming with this one.  I profusely apologize about that.  Anyway, he posted it on Facebook, like you do with everything when you are new to Facebook and this is the description he used.

This polish is a deep blue leaning holo green with blue "sparks." You all know how I love my greens and this is no exception.  It's gorgeous!  The formula on this was great.  It did however stain my nails just a bit.  Make sure to wear a base coat!

This is 2 coats.

Great Lakes Lacquer Torch's Purple Haze.  I love Torch Lake.  It’s absolutely gorgeous and has been picked as the third most beautiful in land lake in the world by National Geographic.  It’s with good reason.  The water is clear and clean, showing the most beautiful teals and blues.  Then I saw a picture of a sunrise on Torch.  It was this purple haze lingering as reds were starting to blaze.  I’m sure we’ll revisit Torch in color again, but this is my first tribute to this awesome body of water.

This one is a reddish purple jelly with blue, purple, and red micro flecks.  It's more red leaning than my camera was able to capture.  Because it's a jelly, it needs a bit of time between coats but over all applies nicely.

This is 3 coats.

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  Today I'm so excited to be showing you the Pahlish half of a collaborative collection with Elevation Polish!  The Adventures of Marco Polo Collection was inspired by the Netflix show Marco Polo.  It's been on my list of things to watch and I this collection gave me the kick in the pants.  I ended up binge watching.  If you love historical period pieces with lots of drama, definitely give this show a try.

Pahlish The Heavenly and Primal.  I'm obsessed with blackened vampy holos and this is just what that is.  A sultry blackened berry holo.  It's gorgeous!  Application on this was perfect.

This is 2 coats.

Hi everyone!  This past weekend I shared the Pahlish side of the Adventures of Marco Polo and now it's time to show you Elevation's!  Inspired by the Netflix show Marco Polo, this collection is filled with rich colors evocative of the period and location.  It's absolute perfection!  Don't forget to check out Lulu's thoughts on what inspired all of these on her blog!

These will be available from ElevationPolish.com August 7th 9pm CST and will be restocked August 22nd 9am CST.

Let's get to the pictures!

Elevation Polish Munkh Khukh Tengri.  This is a creamy slate blue with lots of blue and green ultrachrome flakes.  Nice application.

This is 2 coats.

Elevation Polish Zhenjin.  This is a gorgeous metallic gold with holo pigment.  Because of it's metallic finish, you may end up with a few brush strokes.  Other than that it applies really well.  Often metallics will leave you with bald spots, but I had none of that with this.  It's perfect.

This is 2 coats.

Elevation Polish Le Città Invisibili.  This is a purple leaning taupe creme with ultrachrome flakes that shift from blue to purple and pink to gold.  No formula issues.

Elevation Polish The Latin of 4 Languages.  This is a polish color that's outside my comfort zone, but I ended up really loving it.  It's a lovely reddish orange copper mettalic.  It reminds me of fall so much!  Like Zhenjin, you may end up with a few brush strokes, but otherwise this polish is perfect!

This is 2 coats.

Elevation Polish Empress Chabi.  This is a gorgeous deep berry with blue and pink shimmer.  This polish is so femme fatal to me, I love it!  Perfect application.

This is 2 coats.

Elevation Polish Khan of Khans.  This is another metallic, this time in a burnished almost blackened olive color.  It's stunning!  Again like the other metallics, you make end up with a few brush strokes because of it's metallic finish.  Other than that, great application!

This is 2 coats, but I could have gotten away with one!

Elevation Polish Saif al Jabbar.  Goodness this polish is absolutely stunning! Pictures do not do it justice!  This polish has a black base that's filled to the bring with this beautiful shimmer that shifts  pink to gold and tons of holo.  You need this PERIOD.

Polish My Life Good Morningside

Hi everyone! Today I just have a quick NOTD (nail of the day) using Polish My Life Good Morningside.

It's a gorgeous yellow creme.  Yellow does not get enough love in the polish community, but I love it so much!  The formula on this was pretty good.  It wasn't thick or gloopy at all.  It does streak a bit in the first 2 coats, but other than that, it has a lovely formula, especially for being a yellow.

This is 3 coats.

I bought this a few weeks ago, but I no longer see it on the site.  There are plenty of other pretty cremes to check out though!

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be showing you a new Cirque Colors collection.  It was specially designed for this month's Nordstrom's Pop-In featuring Warby Parker and is inspired by Warby Parker's "signature hues and literary influences." This collection is exclusive to Nordstrom.com and to 6 stores in the US (listed at the bottom of this post).

Let's get started!

Cirque Colors Greenwich.  This is a gorgeous pale blue cream that leans a little green and has lots of gold flakes, but these are very subtle on the nail.  Application on this was nice, but it takes a little more care to get opacity in 2 coats instead of 3.

This is 3 coats (could have been 2).

Cirque Colors City Lights.  This is a lovely pale dove gray, bordering on off white, holo.  I'll have to do a comparison with some other off white holos I have.  Application on this is perfect!

This is 2 coats.

Cirque Colors Iconoclast.  This beauty is a glitter topper filled with white and black glitter with a sprinkling of iridescent glitters to help it stand out even more.  Here I layered it over Greenwich.

This is 1 coat over Greenwich.

Cirque Colors Big Sur.  This is a mid toned cyan blue with lots of beautiful pink shimmer.  I really loved this combo and I'd love to have the base alone as a creme as well.  These kinds of blues are my favorite.  No application problems!

This is 2 coats.

Cirque Colors Fear and Loathing in New York.  This is another favorite from the collection!  It's a slate gray holo and it's stunning!  It kind of reminds me of a rainbow just after a storm with clouds still in the sky.  Perfect application.

This is 2 coats.

Hi everyone!  Happy Sunday!  Today I have The Venetian Duo, a collaboration between Elevation Polish and Pahlish to go along with the Adventures of Marco Polo collection.  (You can check out swatches of the collection here and here.)  This duo is available for purchase from both ElevationPolish.com and Pahlish.com.

Elevation Pahlish The Merchant's Son.  This is Elevation Polish's side of the duo.  It's a thermal, so it's turquoise color when warm and more of a teal color when cold.  It also has this gorgeous teal shimmer that looks especially amazing when the polish is cold. No application problems.

This is 2 coats.

And here's my attempt at showing it cold.  My hands are always very warm, so thermals tend to be warm at all times and when I get them cold they immediately change back, but you can see how it looks cold on my tips.

Hi everyone!  Today I have some Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes to show you.  Recently Sally Hansen has release not one, but two new Miracle Gel collections.  They've also made improvements on the Miracle Gel top coat and have put some limited edition duo packs together.  I have a little bit of each collection, so I'm putting it all in one post.  I'll be doing a separate review on the Miracle Gel top coat later.
*The brushes on these are really wide.  I love them because I have big nail beds and it makes things easy to apply. Please keep this in mind when I talk about application.  If you prefer smaller brushes, you may have a different experience.

Let's take a look!

Sally Hansen Boho-a-Go-Go.  This is a vampy, deep eggplant cream.  I love this color so much.  It has me craving fall and Halloween.  It's nicely pigmented and easy to apply.

This is 2 coats.

Sally Hansen Blue Hue.  This one is one of the limited editions that come in a duo pack with the new Miracle Gel Top Coat.  It's a pretty pastel blue that Sally Hansen calls "milk-glass blue." Another with great pigmentation and easy application.

This is 2 coats.

Sally Hansen Cream of the Crop.  This is what Sally Hansen calls an "ivory with a hint of warmth." In the bottle this looks like it's a creme with a hint of shimmer, but it's actually kind of a nude frost.  It's also pretty sheer, it can be built up to opacity, but still had some visible nail line at 3 coats.  No application problems.

This is 3 coats.

Sally Hansen Rhythm & Blue.  This is a nice sky blue creme.  Easy application.

Sally Hansen Totem-ly Yours.  This is a rosey brown nude creme.  Does that even make sense?  Either way it's a nice neutral.  This one has okay application, although it did have some patchiness after the 2nd coat.

This is 3 coats.

Sally Hansen Mintage.  This is a classic medium toned minty color.  Great application!  I was a little surprised, because colors like these tend to need a little more attention.

The Tribal Vibe Collection, Boho Chic Collection, and limited edition duo packs are available now at chain drugstores and mass retailers.  The Miracle Gel Color Coat and Top Coat retails for $9.99 each while the duo packs retail for $14.99.

Will you or have you picked up any of these?

Goofy as a mid summer TV replacement, this title really sums up where we Twinsies are currently at: a bit burned out and looking to branch out. Our little, tight knit group, has decided to take the month of August off to regroup, rest, spend time with our families, and just enjoy our last few weeks of summer before we get back into the blogging groove in September.

However, over the past few months we've also experienced the loss of a few of our members. For personal reasons, Twinsies have come and gone and we will miss each and every one of them. We've also been lucky enough to introduce you all to new Twinsies who have graced our growing group of polish sisters in the most positive and beautiful ways. Now that we're going on hiatus, we're opening up the opportunity to join in a new way.

Using the Google doc form (linked below), please feel free to apply to join our Twinsie Tuesday group. While not everyone will be accepted, we hope to encourage bloggers who are active, positive, and friendly. You don't have to have a million followers or be amazing at nail art, we are just looking for bloggers looking for a weekly challenge and being part of a warm group of girls interested in meeting new bloggers! So enter away - can't wait to "meet" all of you!

Hi everyone! Today I have a few of SinfulColors A Class Act Collection.  There are 27 in total and have already been spotted in Walgreens as well as other retailers.  There's a little something for everyone!

sinful colors a class act collection back to school

SinfulColors Why Not.  This is a gorgeous medium blue creme.  I adore colors like these and it's very saturated and needed just 1 coat.  Unfortunately it's a bit of a stainer.  It stained the side walls of my nails pretty bad, but eventually faded away after a few polish removals.  Other than that, it has a very nice application.

This is 1 coat.

SinfulColors Truth or Lavendare.  This is a pastel lavender purple that dries to a satiny demi-matte finish.  It was a little streaky, but had an otherwise okay formula.

SinfulColors VIPeach.  Despite the name, this is a creamy pastel yellow creme that also dries to a satin/demi-matte finish.  The formula was a little runny for my taste and a little hard to control, but it's a decent drugstore option for a yellow polish.

SinfulColors Pink Break.  This is a rose-y pastel pink.  It's supposed to dry to a demi matte finish, but after 30 minutes it was still shiny.  I think I just have an off bottle.  All the other swatches I've seen show it matte.  Anyways, it's still a pretty color!

This is 2 coats.

SinfulColors Summer S-cool.  This is a lovely pastel blue creme. I can never get enough of these and I have way too many of them.  I can't help it!  The formula on this is very easy to work with.

SinfulColors Ice Blue.  This is a shimmery/frosty periwinkle purple color.  I have to be honest, this isn't my cup of tea.  This is really sheer and after 3 coats I was still left with visible nail line.  This might look nice layered.

SinfulColors Chalk It Up.  This is a pistachia green creme that dries to a satin/demi-matte finish.  This applied a little streaky at first, but evened out.

SinfulColors Night Owl.  This is another glitter polish with a lilac tinted base with mylar shards and blue bar glitter.  This one is on the thicker side as well.

This is 1 coat layered over Truth of Lavendare.

SinfulColors Sinful Sunrise.  Sinful Sunrise is another glitter in the collection with a pink tinted base with more of those mylar shards as well as some iridescent glitter.  It has that same thickness as the others.  I also noticed the mylar has started to make my nails peel when I remove it.

This is 1 coat over Pink Break.

Overall it's a nice little collection.  It doesn't wow, and isn't without it's issues (staining and some formula issues) but it does provide some nice staples at a great price and they're easy to find.

You can find these and other SinfulColors at Walgreens and other mass retailers.  Be sure to check SinfulColors out at the following spots:

creme a la mode indie box

Let's take a look!

Literary Lacquers Bluestocking Romance.  This is a deep blue creme.  In certain lights it almost leans teal.  The formula on this is excellent!  It reminds me a little bit of Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal.

This only needs 1 coat, but I used 2 for swatches.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Universal Loner.  This is a lovely red creme.  It almost has a jelly finish and it's surprisingly neutral and will look great on anyone.

Digital Nails Tauping Mechanism.  This is a nice putty creme.  In the bottle it looks like a grayish taupe.  With my skin it leans very gray.  The formula on this is perfect.

This only needs 1 coat, but I used 2 for pictures.

Hi everyone!  Can you believe August is almost over?  I'm so ready for fall to be here; it's my favorite time of the year.  You know it's coming when you start seeing pumpkin spice everywhere.

Today I have two gorgeous limited editions from Great Lakes Lacquer that will be available all through the month of September.

Great Lakes Lacquer Mother's Mauve.  My Mom’s birthday is September.  She’s a lady with a heart of gold; one of those ladies that is a Mom to everyone.  All of my close friends have called her Mom and do to this day.  This color is a dedication to her.  In my teenage years, I remember her bedroom being an explosion in mauve.  All tones of mauve.  She tells me that it needs to lean more pink but this is the color I remember.  See?  Still Mom.

I'm not usually a mauve kind of girl, but this one is a stunner.  This is a very purple mauve with a gorgeous gold shimmer (which I've been obsessed with lately) and a hint of holo.  Application was easy peasy.

This is 2 coats.

Great Lakes Lacquer Harvest Moon 2015: Come, Reap.  In traditional folklore, the Harvest Moon is the one that comes closest to the autumnal equinox.  This year’s Harvest Moon lands on September 28th.  In years of old, the light of the Harvest Moon illuminated fields so that farmers could continue harvesting that year’s bounty.  It signified the reaping of hard work and a close to the growing season.  A time of celebrating and a time of reflecting on what has been sewn, it is the end of one stage in nature and the beginning of another.  For those of you who recognize the phrase in the name from a book, there will be more to come by next year’s Harvest Moon.

This is a lovely orange leaning red jelly with shimmer!  I really love this one and it works from both fall and summer.  Application on this was nice, but I'd recommend waiting between coats.

This is 2 coats.

Hi everyone!  Today I have some Australian indie polishes to show you all of which can be found at stockist Ella Ann Cosmetics!  Ella Ann Cosmetics has a nice selection of international brands such as Glam Polish, Grace-full, Pretty Serious and others.

Let's check out some swatches!

Grace-full Nail Polish Deeply in Luxe.  This is a pale fleshy pink holo with iridescent flecks.  It's the perfect safe for work shade and the holo makes it fun.  The flecks aren't too prominent though.  Easy to work with formula.

This is 2 coats.

Grace-full Nail Polish Billie.  This is a bright magenta with lots of iridescent flakes.  This is gorgeous!  This is a bit sheer at first, but builds up well.

This is 3 coats.

Grace-full Nail Polish Eboni.  This is a deep purple jelly with tons of silver holo glitter in different shapes and forms, including stars.  I had a bit of a hard time with this and the glitters clumping up, but it's entirely possible my issues were due to this being decanted in a mini bottle.

This is 3 coats topped with a good helping of Gelous to smooth out the glitter.

Miss Ashleigh Tickled Pink.  This is a pretty nearly neon pink with subtle holo and there seems to be a little gold shimmer in there.  Very pretty!

This is 2 coats.

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Looks that Kill.  This is a gorgeous brick red creme.  It's definitely in the relm of femme fatale nail polish.  The formula on this is absolutely amazing!  It goes on smooth and levels perfectly.

This is ONE coat!

Grace-full Nail Polish Lights in the Party Tree.  It's been so long since I've worn a glitter like this!  This has a green tinted base with lots of green holo glitter and a bit of pink and blue holo glitter in between.

This is 3 coats.

China Glaze Tickle My Triangle - Throwback Thursday

Okay everyone, we're going to pretend like it's still Thursday.  I had this mani on and completely blanked on making a blog post!

Tickle My Triangle (is it just me or is this supposed to be naughty? lol) is a medium pink/fuchsia scattered holo and  comes from the Kaleidoscope collection that was released in 2007.  This collection is definitely a classic and one day I'll own all of them.  I think I'm just missing Rated Holographic and Spin Me Around.

This goes on perfect in 2 coats.

Do you have any of these?  What's your favorite China Glaze collection?

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a great weekend!  Tonight I decided to show you a few Bespoke Batch Palishes I've bought over the past few months.  Almost every week Pahlish releases one or two bespoke batches.  These are generally limited edition because of the cost or shortage of ingredients.  And with that I have to apologize because none of these are available, but check out Facebook sales groups and the Pahlish fan group and you may be able to snatch one up!

Pahlish Oh Philomena.  This is a grayish purple taupe with lavender holo glitter and shimmer.  Definitely one of my favorites!  I'll definitely be wearing this even more now that fall is coming.

This is 3 coats.
